JOB DETAILS

Job Title: Remote HEDIS Clinical Data Abstractor
Company: The CSI Companies

Pay: $18-40 an hour based on previous HEDIS experience and credentials (overtime will be paid at 1.5 times the normal hourly pay rate).

Hours: Full Time – 8 am-5 pm EST during training for 2-3 weeks and then (upon their supervisor’s approval, they can pick a consistent schedule between 6 am EST-6 pm EST but you must work M-F and must work 8 hours a day, and it should remain consistent)

Job Summary
The HEDIS Abstractor will abstract clinical data from medical records. The role performs ongoing analysis of charts for the appropriate review compliance and research and resolves assigned abstraction projects to drive other teams to work on provider education on behalf of the insurance plan.

Performs the basic functions of the abstraction position including ongoing analysis of medical record charts for the appropriate NCQA compliance.
The HEDIS Abstractor will follow and monitor regulatory changes as they pertain to HEDIS reviews and NCQA guidelines.

Status: Consultant: January – May/June 2023

Effective Date / Tentative Start Date: Interviewing Immediately for a start date in January when the HEDIS season begins

Job Duties:
• Meet and maintain production and quality expectations for all assigned measures
• Perform daily responsibilities with acute attention to detail.
• Transitions between priorities and abstraction projects based on program or client needs.
• Uses Independent judgment to complete abstraction and review of medical records following program guidelines.
• Responsible for managing and utilizing confidential information from medical records in an appropriate manner following designated guidelines including HIPAA and company policies/guidelines.
• Applies HEDIS concepts and principles in the completion of abstraction and review process to ensure full recognition of delivered care for the benefit of the member.
• Knowledge of medical record abstraction, clinical reviews, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
1 year of HEDIS and/or Medical chart reviewing, medical records reviewing, or chart abstraction experience (must be on your resume)
Experience in a work environment where you were held to productivity and/or quality goals.
Ability to work overtime occasionally to hit deadlines if needed
Technologically savvy and able to learn new programs and software quickly
High-speed internet with good service available at your home and the capability to hardwire into a modem/router with ethernet.
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass a background check and drug test
Private, quiet, and distraction-free workspace in a room with a closed door away from anyone else in the house
Knowledge of HEDIS concepts and principles.

Highly Preferred
Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Knowledge of STARS measures
Ability to work in a web-based application
Clinical background includes an LPN, LVN, RN, Medical Assistant, or someone with an advanced degree or certification in coding, auditing, clinical documentation, HIM, RHIA, RHIT, etc.
